Damn! I fell asleep with the TV on again, and here it is 4:30 in the morning, and there's some loudmouth talking head babbling away at me from behind a big phony-looking set of opening credits reading '2008 Election', like it's The Second Coming, or the greatest thing since Sliced Bread. I'm just delighted that our community of idiots-in-media are semi-employed once more on another election campaign, but I'd rather have had more sleep...

Traditional folklore has it that 'The Flood' lasted for 40 days and 40 nights, during which it rained constantly - just like in Prince Rupert in the wintertime - or in the backgrounds of those terribly-British soaps we see on TV - and I'm here to tell you that you ain't seen nothin' yet, Kiddies. An unwanted election provoked by an egotistical two-faced lyin' flim-flammer like 'Helmet-hair Harper' is going to cause an absolute deluge of something much worse than mere rain for the next 40 days and 40 nights.

Officially, the election hadn't even been announced yet (it still hasn't officially as I write this, because the PM has yet to meet the Governor-General to get it done) - and already, last night, some butt-smoocher was phoning me, asking for my vote for some damned Conservative. At the time, I was up to my armpits in Microsoft-manufactured screw-ups, trying to sort out the Windows Vista Home Premium with SP1 that came on my new Acer computer, and in no mood to hear from some wannabe freeloader looking for a vacation in Ottawa for the next few months. After all, this is the real world out here, and we don't believe in Fantasyland, or in guys who tell us they know how to make it happen for everybody. We've been to the supermarket and talked to the girls there, and we know what's really going on - and while I'd better not get too graphic with the description of it, let's just say you'd be well advised to keep your cute little posteriors firmly positioned against a wall for the next 40 days, and cover your ears, because it ain't going to be pretty out there, Kiddies...and 'Oldest Living Blogger' wouldn't lie to you. This election might be great news for the media & politicians, but it's definitely bad news for all the rest of us simple-minded taxpayers who get the bills for it.
